Personal Narrative Short Story - 1787 Words
It was the year 2046 and Russia was on the verge of war with the U.S. I was running under the cover of the night in Nevada when I was blinded by the bright flash of the S.W.A.T. vehicle. I cursed under my breath and ran into a back alleyway in a city. I made my way up the fire escape but I rushed and my hand slipped off of the top rung of the ladder. As I fell I questioned whether this really was the life for me, but before I could think of an answer I was caught by one of the S.W.A.T. officers. I had roamed the deserted streets for almost an hour, I could see the sun rising over the horizon. I looked for shops that could tell me where I was, but since the shops did not open early I had nothing to work with. I came across a 24 hour pharmacy and strolled inside. I went to the cashier, and he looked at me in bewilderment. Surely I couldnââ¬â¢t have looked that bad. I looked the mirror and I saw a man one like I couldnââ¬â¢t have even dreamed of. What have I become I thought to myself I used to have such high standards before the war? I asked him where I was and what days I was. He looked at me in fear ââ¬Å"Please donââ¬â¢t hurt me, just take what you want and leave,â⬠he pled.
